I have to say before I went into this review, I watched a couple of YouTube videos and thought it was for kids. When I actually had a chance to play it with some good friends, it was enjoyable and a pleasant surprise. I would give this one good marks as a good group game and good filler game on Bible Board game night!

As a Group Game
I suppose it may depend on the group you have, but I like this game because as a host it gives me some options. For instance, if I have a group over and we are enjoying chatting longer than usual, I don’t mind at all with this game. We could play for 30 minutes or 2 hours. I can adjust the number of rounds to fit how long we have to play.

As a Filler Game
When we have more than a few people at once on Bible board game night, we often all cannot play the same game. We usually have 2 different games going on and they don’t end at the same time. This is where we need some filler games that are short and can give the ones finishing early something to do. For this purpose, I give Apples to Apples – Bible Edition high marks.
Maybe it is not so short as some rounds of cards, but pretty close.

How Long Does it take to Learn or Teach
You don’t need to spend an entire evening preparing before your guests arrive. This is one you can open and play on the spot. Of course, if you want to spend 10 minutes ahead of time to read the directions or playtest a couple of rounds to learn the nuances, you can. The game itself is quite simple. The nuances are in the alternative variations.
As host and game-master, some evenings I am not up to teaching 2 games at once or a complicated game. This once is simple!

As a Game
As a Game, it is simple, but fun. It may depend on the group but I played with 2 other friends and we had a good time. You need at least 3 people, more seems like it would be even better. (I didn’t try the upper limit) but I could see 8-10 people getting pretty silly and having a good time with this.
Alternate Rules
If you have a larger fun group, then 1 extra rule I would add is that the last person to place their card down is out of the round. This would encourage people to be ready and possibly rush into funny combinations. It would certainly keep the pace moving. This is not a game where you want players spending minutes thinking it over too much.

Another rule I would introduce is not to replenish cards every hand. As your hand gets smaller and smaller, it can result in funny and interesting combinations. If a player ever gets to the point where they would have to play a card that results in a combination beyond their range of humor, then they can call for everyone to re-fill their hands.
Overall
I am adding it to my Bible Board Game Night repertoire. Sometimes I need a game that is more casual and easy. We definitely needed a filler game when one group finishes early an this helps fill that gap.
